I have problems connecting my application to SQL Server 2000. (See the stack trace below).

If I connect the application a SQL Server 2005 (using hibernate 3), it works fine.
If I connect other application (using hibernate 2), to SQL Server 2000, it connects without problem.

Both, SQL Server 2000's and SQL Server 2005's databases, have the same information.

I appreciate any help.

Hibernate version: 3.2.2

Hi,
this looks like a driver error.
Probably the newer hibernate is using some modern driver functions, unfortunately the latest features on microsoft's driver are not much backwards compatible.
I would advise you to use jTDS driver, we use it in production environment for SQL Server 2000 and it really rocks: never had a problem and very good performance.
http://jtds.sourceforge.net/

We actually use it also for newer SQL server editions.

regards,
Sanne
