Gang,

I'd like to contribute this line to the DialectFactory class allowing
Ingres connections to "auto configure" from Grails and other
Spring-based frameworks:

MAPPERS.put( "INGRES",
new VersionInsensitiveMapper("org.hibernate.dialect.IngresDialect" ) );

How do I go about submitting this fix back t the community?

I would say check out HB code. Make the modification. Use a svn client tool like Tortoise and make a patch. Create a new issue in HB issue tracking and attach the patch. Also explain in the issue what you have done and what it solves.
