I have audit requirements where audit objects are supposed to be saved and deleted with the parent object, it does not require update. I tried cascade=save, delete but it does not like it. I am trying to avoid unnecessary update that it does to improve performance. I'm wondering if there is any easy way avoiding update through the mapping file. I would appreciate any help on this.

Thanks

Have you tried cascade=delete_orphan?
