 Post subject: Mapping of components with hierarchy

Hibernate version: 3.2

I can't find information about mapping as a component some class that has subclasses. The component is not an entity, it is a price, combination of either amount+currency or string+currency.

Any points on is it possible to map it into a table of entity with added 3 columns (+discriminator)?

And how to reference in maippings to this component so not to rewrite <component> tags each time?
