I have found the Criteria does not works properly with Class parameters.
This example does not work.

Criteria crit = ...
crit.add(Restrictions.eq("classProperty", String.class));

At the same time HQL gives expected results.

Query q = ...
q.setParameter("classProperty", String.class);

The mapped property looks like this:

@Basic
Class<?> classProperty;
