I need to implement complex discriminator functions based on information that is not contained in the row, or even the schema. I have xml configuration files that determine the type of object that needs to be constructed from a row in the database. Depending on the xml configuration, the same row might be class A one day, and class B another day. Simple discriminator columns or formulas are insufficient.

Do I need to create my own implementation of a something in the loader package?
