Hey guys,

Using Hibernate, I am trying to store a pdf into sybase. Originally I tried storing it as a blob & clob, but the getblob & getclob methods are not supported.

Now, i am trying to store the pdf into a 'text' type field; however, I am not sure how to make this conversion from binary pdf to 'text' type in the database.

Any advice would help greatly. thanks.

Try using a byte[] property and setting the mapping type to "binary".
