If I have an ANSI SQL 99 statement in my java code and connect to a database that is ANSI 92 compliant will Hibernate handle the conversion of sql for me?

(ie) If I have a select statement that uses coalesce or if I have a join that is written in 92 format will Hibernate modify the statement to comply to the 92 format?

As far as my knowledge goes, If there is a dialect that is supporting your database, Hibernate will be able to handle it.
