Hibernate version: 3.2

Name and version of the database you are using: Oracle 10g and HSQLDB 1.8.0.7

Is there a generic way using HQL to get the current database time? I want to be able to retrieve the database time seamlessly using either Oracle 10g or HSQLDB.

If not, is there a way to achieve this another way? Maybe using named queries?

Thanks.
