I am executing a count query using hibernate 3.

session.createQuery("select count(c.customerId)FROM Customer c")
.uniqueResult();

actually i need to return a Long value instead of Integer(I am just changing an Ejb3 project to pure hibernate there it works fine with any casting Long or Integer).this returns Integer only. i dont want to change the return type function.

i know i can convert to Long and return. looking for more information about return of UniqueResult and how it works in Ejb3 with Long

jimmy
