I have a Log object which contains 10 page objects. Each page has 50 categories (columns) containing 24 rows which works out to about 12000 records per query. All objects are configured to lazy load. My fetch time for a Log is running around 15 minutes. Is there anyway to improve the performance? Just getting the Log object alone is taking over 5 mins?

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you turned on sql logging and see what is happening during your query? Make sure Hibernate is doing exactly (DB wise) what you need it to do.

Thanks for the reply. Turns out I had missed a fetch="subselect" in one of the configuration files. Changed it to lazy="true" and have much better performance.
