For Hibernate starters using EJB3s, is there any reason to use XML mapping files over annotations?

I can choose freely for my project, however most books and documentations seem to follow the old XML path, which is not what I intend to use and it's not what new EJBs wants to improve AFAI understood it. Why should anyone use XML files over annotations anymore, legacy systems aside?
