Greetings,

In bottom-up development process, when Java objects are generated by database schema, what is the best practice of quick updating Java code when schema changes? I presume that generated code should not be subject to any by-hand edits, so the only thing to add custom behaviour to generated beans is inheritance. This is the most obvious way, but is there better solutions?

Thanks,
sonar

Hmm, I think I put my question a bit unclear :)

The database schema I'm working with evolves quite often with the change or evolution of business requirements. So I've chosen bottom-up development approach. My desire is to make code generation process safe. I mean that when I run Hibernate tools for code generation, I need to be sure that I won't delete any custom stuff I've written.

Can anyone point me to some "best practice" of doing this?
