HQL and Criteria Queries

What is different between HQL and Criteria Queries. Where could be used HQL and Where could be used Criteria Queries.

(I think Criteria Queries is very easy for complex query?)

Criteria:
cute & easy to maintain

HQL:
string concatenation & more powerful

IMHO, you can go far without being limited by the new Criteria API.
Give it a try, you will like it.
