What companies are using Hibernate?

Where can I find the information on companies that are using Hibernate for their system? It seems like I can't find this from the Hibernate website.

Hibernate is using LGPL license.

COrrect me if i'm wrong. This license allows me to use Hibernate freely and it does not requires me to open source my application source code that uses Hibernate API.

Is that right?

Please advise.

That is correct. I would suggest you read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Lesser_General_Public_License. Here is the pertinent passage from the article:

There are, however, certain other restrictions on this software. Essentially, it must be possible for the software to be linked with a newer version of the LGPL-covered program. The most commonly used method for doing so is to use "a suitable shared library mechanism for linking". Alternatively, a statically linked library is allowed if either source code or linkable object files are provided.
