 Post subject: LDAP and Hibernate - Is this possible?

I would like to use Hibernate to persist to LDAP, rather than reinvent the wheel. Is this possible using a Customer EntityPersister? There are mentions in the documentation that I should be able to do this, but as I investigate it is looking less likely to do this.
