Hibernate v3.0.5

AbstractFlushingEventListener has the following method:

protected Object getAnything() { return null; } (line 135, 138 in v3.1.3)

can't find any other mention of this on the forums or in the documentation. What's it used for? Seems a bit redundant unless I'm mistaken.

Appologies if I've overlooked something
