Sorry Everyone - but I'm and so new to this hibernate stuff I was spelling it wrong for a week before someone clued me in. That said, I wouldn't even know what to search for to get me close to what my problem is, so I'm not asking for a solution, rather clues or directions to where I might start looking.

Here's the situation. We've got a new Java application using hibernate / struts. Neat stuff, only thing is the contractor who coded it isn't here. In coding it the contractor handle all the SQL connection issues using the hibernate.cfg.xml file. When our newly hired Java Architect found out he had us change to use connection pooling on our Websphere server.

Unfortunately for us the application works with the .cfg file but not so well with the connection pooling set up on the server. I've been instructed to post this to the forum in hopes someone would take pitty on us and give us a couple clues.

We're using hibernate 3.x

Here is the hibernate.cfg.xml file snippet you'd be most interested in:

We use c3p0 here at my work. Maybe our implementation can help you. Of course put the jar in the classpath then enter this line in our hibernate cfg xml file.
