As far as I can tell, the new mechanism for importing/exporting objects or records from/to XML does not and cannot generate an XSD or DTD describing the corresponding XML.

Has anyone written a tool which would do this? Are there plans to implement something like this in 3.2 or subsequent versions?

If I had to write this myself, where should I start looking in the Hibernate code (i.e. where is the code for generating/parsing the XML)?
