 Post subject: inability to use joins in a subquery

Does anyone know that the join issue in subqueries (inability to use joins in a subquery even though the detached criteria explicitly specifies that it should) has been resolved? In what version?

I'm having the same problem, and it looks like there's a patch, but I'm a little scared to use it.

The issue is in the Hibernate JIRA:
