Where has the MapGenerator Gone?

Hi-

I'm migrating from 2.0 to 2.1b and discovered that the MapGenerator is no longer included with the distribution. The docs still talk about using the MapGenerator, its just not there.

I read the ToolSet Roadmap (http://www.hibernate.org/52.html) which includes MapGenerator as part of the current status and other options (XDoclet, MiddleGen) as future possibilities.

What is *right now* the recommended path for mapping existing objects?

The tools are in a separate package with a separate release cycle. MapGenerator is not the recommended method where the replacement is Middlegen which can be downloaded from Hibernate SF download page.

Does Middlegen generate hibernate mapping files from java source or class files ?
