First example in this section, "count query results without returning them" calls iterate() on a session object.

Shouldn't that be createQuery/createSQLQuery(sql).iterate() ?

some of the docs still use deprecated methods (available on org.hibernate.classic.Session) - but yes, the more correct version is as you suggest.
