Hello all,

I am facing a situation where there is a existing database directly accessed by different users and they one to migrate the system to Hibernate. This is done like it is because they can control which user does whatever thing at any moment. What would be the best practice to follow? We are open to ideas. Should we keep this current system, where the database control the login (and in this case how to create the SessionFactories?), or should we define a datasource with a user that has access permission to the database, and maintain some kind of audit fields with the user that modified the row and the modification time?

Any thoughts?

Bruno

Can continue to use DB level of audit by using connection per user strategy

Or have "system" user to connect to DB and implement logging an other stuff based on fields, history tables etc.
