Does anyone know of a good reference to under stand the meta attribute tags?

A google search for <hibernate-mappings> brings a lot of help for the main elements like <class and <property, <id, etc. But am having trouble find information on child elements of the aforementioned ones.

Documentation on meta tags are kind of scattered about as they are primarily for external tools (i.e. outside of core hibernate). So the meta tags mean different things to different tools. Do you have a specific idea about what you want to do with them or just trying to figure out what they're for?

As for child elements, as far as I know, <meta> elements do not allow them. I wish we were able to embed our own xml structure within <meta> as the current model is too simple/restrictive for some uses... but maybe that's a limitation of DTD.. I'm not sure.
