Hello to everybody !

In my project I'm using Hibernate (by the way : very good piece of software, thanks) and org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration.addRessource(String path). This is very convenient to load all the classes in runtime.
But the point is that those classes are also modified at runtime, and then, their mapping should be re-generated.
I was therefore wondering whether it is possible for 'Configuration' to modify (or delete, it would be sufficient) a mapping previously added with addResource (or addClass) so that I can have the class mapped properly.
For the moment I've only seen function to retrieve or add something to Configuration, but not to delete or modify. Are those functions missing or have I misread the documentation ?

Thank you in advance,
Joel.

Did you find out a solution for that ? Cause I have the same problem and it would be nice to have an answer.

Hello TOMBATLECRUISEr.

Unfortunately, I didn't find anything, because I think there is nothing (still hope I'm wrong).

According to me, the reason why is because removeResource (or removeDocument, removeXML,...) would be something difficult to develop because of the hypothetic relation between some classes.

My post was rather aimed to development team, to know if some work is (/will be) done about that.

For the moment if I have a new class, I add it. If it is changed or deleted, I wait until all operation on all classes are made and I build a new Configuration on-the-fly (i.e. without *.hbm.xml) with those classes.
It's a bit barbarian, but it seems to me that there is no other option.

Regards,
Joel.

I agree with you this is a barbarian solution, but I came to the same conclusion (build new Configuration object "on the fly").

Thanks 4 your reply.

Just a little 'up' because no member of the Hibernate has me answered until now.
Please forgive my curiousity if it is inappropriate, and of course thanks in advance.

Regards,
Joe.
