Name and version of the database you are using: oracle 9i

The generated SQL (show_sql=true):

Debug level Hibernate log excerpt:

Hello, i want to have a formula property that receives the sum of a field in a one-to-many relationship.

Code:
<property name="_X"
               formula="select sum(c.x) x from tblA a, tblAC ac, tblC c where a.a_num = ac.a_num and ac.c_num = c.c_num"
           update="false"
           insert="false"
           type="java.lang.Double" />

I have the getter and setter in the class (get_X() and set_X()).

When opening the app, i received that error. If i esecute that very sal statement in sql plus, it executes perfectly. obviously, i'm doing something wrong. Just can't figure out what.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot

I don't remember exactly but I think the value of the formula is just appended as-is to the select clause which would obviously generate an incorrect query.

Not sure but that's my guess. Have you tried to set show_sql=true in your config file to see the query Hibernate generated ?
