I am having difficulty installing Hibernate from inside a Virtual PC. My Eclipse environment works fine on an .VHD, and I have other plugins installed. I cannot seem to install Hibernate, or PMD for unit testing in this environment. I have tried fresh installs of the VPC, and Eclipse 3.1, 3.1.1. and 3.2.0M2.

I installed a working copy on my root OS and it worked fine. Similar steps, or copying the installed instance over to the VPC both result in:

'The selected wizard cannot be started.

Reason:

Plug-in org.eclipse.jsr220orm.ui was unable to load class
org.eclipse.jsr220orm.ui.internal.wizards.AddPersistenceWizard.'


When attempting to run as a perspective:

'Problems opening perspective 'org.eclipse.jsr220orm.ui.perspective'

All files seem to be accounted for and prerequisite installations worked cleanly.

org.eclipse.jsr220orm is not something Hibernate specific - ask at their eclipse newsgroup forum.

In the meanwhile you could also try and work with the hibernate tools plugins from http://tools.hibernate.org
