 Post subject: NoClassDefFoundError net.sf.hibernate.MappingException
PostPosted: Wed Sep 21, 2005 9:03 am
Hello,

I am trying to create a schema, and I am receiving the error below, which to me looks like the MappingException class cannot be found. Problem is, I am positive I have all jars from 2.1.3_extensions, and 3-0.download.

I tried yesterday also, with newer versions. I am running a simple ant script posted below error, and the xml to create schema below that.

Any ideas?

why do you list versions as 2.1.3 and 3.0 and your mapping shows usage of hibernate2 DTD....?

2.1.3 and 3.0 is not compatible

As a user just trying to get started with Hibernate and using the book examples, how do I get around the DTD problem? Should I use the 3.0 hibernate, but if so, I could not find any 3.0 extensions?

you chance the DTD to refer to 3.0 as shown in the migration guide (http://www.hibernate.org/250.html)

The tools related to H3 is at tools.hibernate.org

But beaware some parts of hibernate has changed between h2 and h3, but it should all be covered in the migration guide.

If you have troubles then just use H2 books with H2 and then do the upgrade to H3 afterwards.
