Hello,
Can someone show me if it's possible to query the secondary cache without hitting the database. Basically, I want the search to return nothing if objects matching HQL are not in the secondary cache.
Thanks.

I’ve set up the secondary cache in our system, based on Chapter 5 in Hibernate in Action, but I haven’t read anything about controlling where you get your data from.

I thought the whole meaning of the caching strategy was to make it transparent for the application and the developer!!??

So based on my knowledge, what you are asking for is not possible.
