Is there a way in Hibernate 3.0.5 to disable automatic updating of dirty objects and only have them get updated when I explicitly save the object to the hibernate session factory?

Thanks,
Todd

session.setFlushMode( FlushMode.NEVER )

then you need to make explicit calls to session.flush()
