getting exception for batch update

hi,
I am getting following exception when doing batch update.

Stack trace is :
org.hibernate.QueryException: query must begin with SELECT or FROM: update [update theater set name=:nm where capacity>=0]

from the exception it looks that batch updates are not supported in 3.0. Please help

Hibernate version:3.0

See section 14.2 and 14.3 of the doc on how to do batch updates

If this does not work for you post the code that causes trouble

Sorry, Please read bulk update not batch update. I am doing exactly what is mentioned in section 14.3

You must use the new query parser.
