 Post subject: More than one collection type for single child relationship?

Is it possible to carry along multiple collection types of the same collection of child objects? I would like the functionality of a Map for my child collections, but due to some apparent limitations I also need to have a Set of the same Objects.

Is this possible? Is this a bad practice? Can you run into synchronization issues?
