I'm using detached objects with hibernate 3.0.5. I'm finding that there are a number of places where I'd like to use lazy loading but can't without first re-attaching the objects. This could be avoided if I could implement my own proxy that can resolve objects using the object's ID and calls to my API (rather than directly working with the hibernate session.) Is this possible? Any advice?

thanks

Hibernate version: 3.0.5
