get query SQL from Query instance or HQL string ?

Is it possible to get to the SQL string representation from a given query instance or HQL string ?

I haven't found any examples how to use the QueryTranslator interface, because it is supposed to be used internally only, i guess.

Any help appreciated,

enable sql debugging or enable the sql output in the Hibernate configuration. This is explained in chapter configuration of the Hibernate Reference.
