connection error

Anyone ever see the following error:

java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection

Not sure what happened, but I just started getting this error. I am sure the username and password are correct. The information set in the hibernate cfg file looks correct also. It is identical to the info in the hibernate.properties file.

Any ideas?

I just noticed above the error message is the following message:
Warning: Could not obtain connection metadata

Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

For some reason the SessionFactory is null.

I just had that error when using 3.0.4 . What version are you using?

I finally figured this error message out. I had to remove the following line from my configuration file:
<property name="cache.provider_class">net.sf.ehcache.hibernate.Provider</property>
