I'm thinking about using Hibernate in an application that involves frequent user-driven modifications to the database schema. For example, the user will be performing actions that often result in table creations or table modifications.

I'm wondering about the best way to handle this. Is the normal way to do this to programatically update the hbm files, then run schema update or are there other 'best practices' out there for using hibernate on an application like this.

Any links/suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello Mike,

sorry but I can only point to Middlegen and CGLIB which might be good candidates for a merge to solve your need.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/cglib/
http://boss.bekk.no/boss/middlegen/index.html

I'm looking for this as well, however my changes are not so dynamicly ;-)

Good luck
Thomas
