Hibernate version:2.1.8
EHCache version: 1.1

We have setup the hibernate mapping files to cache the data and relationships. Everything seems to be working as expected. Is there any way to change the setting at runtime. I would like to be able to turn the caching off and on at runtime.

some times we have lot of database updates directly through pl/sql without going through the java code. I would like to keep the cache off while it is happening and turn it back on when done. It does not happen very often but it could go on for hours.

Thanks

Any idea?

If I need to modify the hibernate code to do it, can somebody please point in the right direction.

Thanks.
