Hibernate version: 2.1.8a

Hi all,
Is there a way in Hibernate in order to not put data in first-level cache while executing a select query.? I know that we can call evict on an object (or even in the session), but I am looking for a way to tell Hibernate not to first-level cache the request before (or while) executing it.

thanks in advance

/m.k
