Chapter 11.10 of the reference manual tells us, that session auto flushing happens before some query executions.
Personaly I've seen this hapening only before queries based on a HQL/Criteriy/NativeSql. Is my assumption right, that this are the only cases where an auto-flush is triggered?

If I'm wrong, could somebody elaborate a little bit more on this?

Hibernate version: 3.0.3

Sorry if this has been asked before. Search for session and flush produces ~1700 results ...

TIA
Ernst

By looking at the source code I found an other case:
If an entity is saved, deleted and saved again, a flush is triggered to make sure the session does not get out of sync.

Are there other cases?

TIA
Ernst
