 Post subject: Why can't I cache joined-subclass'es?

Hibernate version: 3.0

On all my classes and collections I put <cache usage="read-write"/> but this otpion isn't available on the joined-subclass element (according to dtd at least).

Why can't I cache subclasses? Or does the parent caching automatically take care of that?
