Hi,

Is there a way to see what is inside the first level cache in hibernate?
Or if I am debugging the code, which attribute of the hibernate is the first level cache.

I think knowing what is inside the first level cache can help me understand how the cache in hibernate works better.

Thank you.
sam

In Hibernate2, there is no "single attribute" which is the 1st-level-cache. The 1st-level-cache is a logically thing made of of a number of fields on the SessionImpl class.

If you are using Hibernate3, the 1st-level-cache is basically the class named PersistenceContext.

Regardless, the things that are ultimately cached are instances of EnttityEntry and CollectionEntry.

Thank you.

could you please tell if I have existing data in database (i.e. I am not inserting new data) and I turn off query cache.
What could be in the first level cache in hibernate?

Thank you.
