Timestamp versionning - Is the dat from DB or Apps server?

Hibernate version: 2.1

Hi,

I need to know if the Hibernate timestamp versionning mecanism uses the application server date or the DB server date (getDate()) ?

I would really appreciate it if someone could answers my post. I've tried looking in the source code but up until now, I didn't find the answer.

Do you know of anyways to change it for the DB time? When you have more then one app. server, it's possible they will not have the exact same system date.
