When distinct will be available in Criteria?

Who knows, when developers are going to implement distinct in Criteria?

Take a look at the javadoc for Criteria.setResultTransformer(). When it is set to DISTINCT_ROOT_ENTITY only distinct root entities will be returned.

I'll create my own ResultTranslater.
Why it (distinct) isn't done on SQL side? It might increase performance.
