Currently experiencing issues with oracle 7 db and hibernate(can't get connection metadata etc) Emm wrote some jdbc and I can connect.

Can anyone clarify before starting a detailed investigation that hibernate is compatible with Oracle 7?

many thanks

steve

There is no specific dialect and we have not heard of any reports. You are on your own :)

Currently full support requires 8i and above since these are the dialects available. On the surface 8 (and thus 7) should (partially) work but the JDBC driver will dictate that. Its the driver that providing the connection meta data. If you can get connected etc then some adjustments to the dialect should be able to be created to cover most remaining gaps.
