HI

Just a general question again.
Have many people successfully used hibernate, DAO's and DTO's with many to one and many to many joins?

Should I attempt this as a beginner?

thanks

I don't think there are many issues at all in use these facilties. I suggest you read the documentation and build small test/discovery cases. The approach will result in you learning very quickly how it all hangs together.

when i was young (1,5 year ago), i used DTO.... forget it, it is much simplier to run with your persistent objects.

Using DTO can be usefull if you are working with a rich client, if it is a webapp, forget DTO.

You can use DAO, that's very usefull to isolate all query stuff, easier to read, maintain and reuse inside your application.
