Improved traceability in hibernate 3

Has there been any effort to make the sql traceability more usuable?

The showSql property basically blurts the prepared statements. What would be ideal is to have the values embeded in the sql so the sql can be debugged.

TopLink does a great job in this area and makes life so much easier for debugging.

use eclipse or log your parameter

i can recommend a tool like p6spy which will work with ALL you jdbc code instead of just the stuff that hibernate spits out.
