Hibernate 3 beta status?

Hi,
I'm curious about the status on any new "releases" of the Hibernate 3 branch.

I'm using 2.1.6 now but I'm interested in start using version 3 in developing but I decided to wait for version 3 to reach beta status.

I'm also interested in where I can read about the latest "development status" (So that I don't need to ask this question again ;-). I've been checking inside Jira - Roadmap once in a while but maybe you have some other "status page".

There is a Road Map and a link to the CVS changelog on the website.
