 Post subject: optimistic locking using version seems dangerous

Hi, wouldn't it be better to use optimistic-lock="all" rather than "version"?

If someone modifies a row in a database using something other than hibernate and they don't update the version, how is hibernate to know?

Because "someone" might also use the version column to mark his changes or because you should use "all" if he doesn't do this. Version mappings are really useful if there is no "someone".
