Everything was working with Hypersonic, so I changed to Firebird (1.5 using Jaybird JCA) with an XA datasource. Is there a problem using XA and the JbossHibernate integration or is something else wrong ?

Name and version of the database you are using:
Firebird 1.5 Jaybird JCA Driver V1.5 Beta 3

Changed the TrackConnectionByTx attribute on the mbean " name=FirebirdDS,service=TxCM" to true on the jmx-console and this issue went away.


Now I just need to find out how to do this in the datasource configuration...

This issue also posted by another on the firebird-java list . It is likely a JBoss/JCA/Jaybird issue rather than a hibernate one. Setting the track connection by transaction attribute fixed it them too.
