Hello all,

I have several applications that I am currently running on tomcat5 server. I would like configure to use hibernate only within one particular web application and want to generate a war file totally independent of the container, so it is portable across application servers like weblogic, websphere etc. Could someone walk me through what are all the important steps. If you don't find time to type a detailed reply, atleast let me know if what I am attempting is a feasible idea or am I going down the wrong path?

Are you encountering a problem with your approach? As long as you don't set up Hibernate to depend on a global JNDI context or something like that, it should be local to just your one application context.
